The team at Masonry Specialists is dedicated to maintaining a safe and healthful working environment for all persons present at the project sites, with zero injuries being sustained.
As a Subcontractor, Masonry Specialists is committed to the specific Safety Program
of its customers. Our OSHA-trained Safety Director periodically visits each site and has the authority
to stop the work when he witnesses a dangerous situation. His duties include coordinating the safety training and keeping abreast of changes in safety regulations.
Selected members of Masonry Specialists' team are certified in both the Asbestos Awareness and Lead Safe programs.
We formalized our commitment to a safe work environment by joining the OSHA Chase-Wisconsin Partnership Program in 2005. Masonry Specialists requires all of our field staff to attend a 10-hour OSHA training.
Our commitment to safety has results that speak for themselves:
In 2006, with 76 employees we had a "zero time lost" record.
2011 Safety Meeting
Our Experience Modification Ratio (EMR) is .69. The EMR rating is the industry's means for rating the relative safety performance of construction firms compared to the national average of 1.0. Essentially, a rating of .69 means we are 31% safer than the national average for safety among masonry contracting firms.
